Brand Spotlight: Róhe

For a refined wardrobe built on precision, provenance, and permanence.

Finding staple brands that prioritise quality over quantity, at a reasonable price point, is becoming increasingly rare. One thing I am especially passionate about is natural materials: wools, silks, and the origins of fabrics, along with the craftsmanship that goes into construction. I am a stickler for this, to the point where I lose interest the moment a piece falls short of my standards. And honestly, that eliminates most brands.

After a long slog of trying to curate a wardrobe that feels like an authentic reflection of my personal style (and less like a carousel of trending pieces), I discovered Róhe. Now, this brand has been gaining traction for a while, but I am sometimes late to the party thanks to a little syndrome I call ROMO (romanticisation of missing out).

Still, I am so glad to have stumbled across Róhe. Let us talk about what makes it exceptional.

This Dutch brand was founded in 2021 by Marieke Meulendijks and Maickel Weyers in Amsterdam. The collections are rooted in a refined, reimagined take on tailoring. Elevated minimalism with a cerebral edge. Think: a personal wardrobe that transcends seasons, with each piece designed to seamlessly complement the last.

What sets Róhe apart is its commitment to unexpected silhouettes, exceptional Italian and Portuguese fabrics, and uncompromising quality. Transparency in sourcing is front and centre, with fabric partners including Ley Tricot, a family-owned wool business; Mundicorte, a Portuguese manufacturer founded in 1978 by Agostinho Pereira and José Almeida; and Vitale Barberis Canonico, a heritage mill based in Italy’s Biella region that has been producing fabrics since 1663.

The result? A collection that feels like a modern heirloom wardrobe. Quietly luxurious, expertly made, and built to outlive the algorithm.

Here’s what’s currently sitting in my bookmarks:

Suede cinched blazer, dark chocolate

Also in chocolate brown suede, this classic, waist enhancing, fitted single-breasted suede blazer in a deep chocolate brown colour is perfect for every day wear with a cut of clean lines and no fuss.

Mandarin double-faced wool jacket, off white

The big sister to the classic mandarin jacket, the double faced off-white version has the same beautiful pankou closure, as well as enhanced detailing with embroidered edges for an artisanal finish.

Draped satin top, cream

An asymmetric, fluid satin top with a soft light-catching sheen, this piece cascades beautifully around the body.

Silk lace camisole top, cream

The intricate lace applique along the v-neckline and back of this top adds an extra special touch of glamour, making it the perfect piece to layer and dress up with.

Scoop-neck silk lace top, cream

A flowing silk top crafted with contrasting lace detailing. The perfect piece for everyday layering and a staple in any minimalist capsule wardrobe.
